The next word in the 100 Day Challenge is HISTORY.
Why is history important? One reason is that it helps us understand society. It tangles the past with the present with facts. What worked before? What did not? History should prevent us from repeating mistakes of the past. It also helps us understand change, inspire us, and make us better.
Jacques Barzun said we gather historical knowledge, not to make us more clever the next time, but to make us wiser for all time. And John Maynard Keynes wrote that ideas shape the course of history.
